Iweanya Victor on “SIX Ph.D. and 704 Masters Holders….”

I read on Linda Ikeji’s blog yesterday that among the applicants for the position of driver at Dangote group of companies, 6 Ph.D. and 704 Masters Holders were present with several other B.Sc. holders. As much as this is actually very funny, it shows how unsafe we are if we only depend on our degrees and academic accolades to make us comfortable in life. One would expect that a Ph.D. holder would be able to utilize the depths of his knowledge and apply them in research and development other than to be applying to become a decorated pilot driver. Perhaps it’s the current state of the economy or the current state of our ideology but as the saying goes “Na condition make crayfish bend”.
